As if my last post weren't enough, here's a review of 2010 in a few questions. I stole this from my beautiful friend Becka's blog at
The Floating Violinist.
Let me know if you fill it out too because I'd love to read it! :)
What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
Lots of things! I went to an NFL football game, graduated college, was a bridesmaid, took a cake decorating class, saw Hanson, got paid to write, met Donald Miller and other fun things I can't recall at the moment. :)
Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't think I made any and I'm pretty sure I won't again this year. I never keep that sort of thing. I'm more of a healthy habits over resolutions kind of girl.
What countries did you visit?
Does Alabama count? Just kidding, none.
What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
I don't feel I was lacking in much, but I'd love a little more financial stability and a little more adventure.
What dates from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory?
March 29 and October 30.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I'd say it's a tie between graduating, buying my own car in cash and/or getting the job I wanted.
Did you suffer illness or injury?
My back is messed up and I have obnoxious allergies, but it could be so much worse!
What was the best thing you bought?
Definitely Quicken. It's helped me budget, big time. If you're like me and don't believe in math, you'll love it to. Totally worth the money.
Where did most of your money go?
Books and food
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Buying a car, getting my job, seeing boyfriend again after he was gone all summer.
What song will always remind you of 2010?
F*ck You by Celo Green. SO CATCHY!
Also, Grenade is awesome.
Compared to this time last year, are you:
happier or sadder? Looking back on last December, I have to say I was happy then, but I'm even happier now.
thinner or fatter? Thinner. I gained a little weight before graduation, but I lost all of it plus a few pounds over the summer and I've kept it off. (P.S. Stress doesn't begin to cover my state of mind during the 5 weeks leading up to graduation. I suffer from Chronic Overachiever Syndrome and I while I pulled it off, my body did not appreciate lack of sleep.)
richer or poorer? Still poor haha
What do you wish you'd done more of?
Exercising and more focused writing time
What do you wish you'd done less of?
Worried about what others thought of me. Haters are gonna hate and I wish I would just let them and not let it bother me or hurt my feelings.
How did you spend Christmas?
With my immediate family. They're lovely.
Did you fall in love in 2010?
Yes. Again and again.
What was your favorite TV program?
While Arrested Development, Bridezillas and Andy Griffith remain my all time favorites, J. L. and I watched all of the seasons of 30 Rock together so that made it special. Oh, and I loved the Jake season of the Bachelor. My friends and I loved to hate that guy!
What was the best book you read?
I love to read and read a lot so it's a really tough call...
I'd have to say either
The Remains of the Day or
The Things They Carried.
What was your greatest musical discovery?
Florence and the Machine and Mumford and Son. Fabulous.
What did you do on your birthday?
Went to work and then had burgers and played games with 15 of my closest friends. It was crazy, but it was perfect.
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
I'm with Becka. Winning the lottery.
How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
Umm, my sister is my personal shopper and I wear whatever she says to wear, so I'd say Fashion a la Jennifer.
What kept you sane?
Jesus, J. L., Jennifer, Lauren, Donald Miller, Jane Austen
Who was the best new person you met?
Well, my favorite random person was a French aristocrat named Bernard. I met him at a party and he told me his fascinating life story, philosophy on what it means to be a man and complimented me for 2 hours. Also, I loved the ladies at my PR office while I worked there.
Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010:
God's timing is not my timing and I need to remember that His timing is better.
Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
You are the best thing that's ever been mine
